Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-26
This policy explains what information the salty.poker website collects when you visit it or use its forms, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language.
This policy covers the public website at salty.poker only. The poker platform at play.salty.poker is a separate service with its own privacy policy and terms, which apply when you create an account or play there.
Who we are
The salty.poker website is operated by SK Meridian LLC, which operates the Salty Poker Network, based in Austin, Texas. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean SK Meridian LLC.
What we collect
Information you give us through forms
The site has three forms. We only receive what you type into them, plus a few details added automatically, listed below.
- Launch signup, notify-me banner and footer newsletter: your email address only, plus which of these forms you used.
- Added automatically to every form submission: the language version of the site you were using, the country your connection appears to come from (worked out by Cloudflare from your IP address; we store the country, not the IP address), and the date and time.
Information collected automatically when you browse
- Google Analytics 4: pages you view, how you arrived (for example, a search engine or a link), approximate location, device and browser type, and events such as submitting a form or switching language. Google Analytics uses cookies.
- Microsoft Clarity: how visitors use pages, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, which Clarity turns into heatmaps and session recordings. By default Clarity masks text typed into form fields. Clarity uses cookies.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: page load performance and basic page-view counts. Cloudflare says this service does not use cookies or track individuals across sites.
- Our own page-view counter: each page view sends the page address, the referring page, the site language and a random session ID to our own customer-relationship system. If you arrived by clicking a link in an email we sent you, that link carries a code identifying the email recipient, and we save it in a cookie so later page views can be linked to that email. Without such a link, page views are counted anonymously.
- Short links: when you open a salty.poker/l/ link we have shared, we record the click, including your IP address, browser type and referring page, to count clicks and filter out bots, and then send you on to the destination.
- Hosting and security: Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site, processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages, block attacks and keep the site available.
Cookies and similar storage
- Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga): tell repeat visits apart for analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity cookies (such as _clck and _clsk): group page views into a session for heatmaps and recordings.
- spn_vid (our cookie, 90 days): only set when you arrive from one of our email links; links your page views to that email.
- spn_sid (browser session storage, cleared when you close the tab): a random ID that groups page views from one visit.
- notifySubmitted (browser local storage): remembers that you already signed up so we stop showing you the signup banner.
- Cloudflare security cookies (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance): may be set to tell people from bots. Cloudflare Turnstile also runs a bot check when you submit a form.
The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and Google receives your IP address.
How and why we use it
- To read and reply to messages you send us.
- To send you launch news and updates you asked for. Every update email will include a way to unsubscribe.
- To understand which pages are useful, fix problems and improve the site.
- To see which of our emails and shared links lead people to the site.
- To protect the site and its forms from spam, bots and abuse.
- To meet legal obligations and to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with others for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who handle information on our behalf:
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, the Turnstile bot check, Web Analytics, and the database where form submissions are stored.
- Google: Google Analytics and Google Fonts.
- Microsoft: Microsoft Clarity.
Our page-view counter and short links send data to a customer-relationship system that we operate ourselves. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of our business.
How long we keep it
- Signup and newsletter email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them.
- Contact messages: as long as we need them to respond and keep a record of the conversation.
- Google Analytics: event data is kept for 14 months.
- Microsoft Clarity and Cloudflare keep their data for the periods set out in their own policies.
Your choices and rights
- You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
- You can use Google's browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics, and Microsoft's privacy settings to manage Microsoft data.
- You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or give you a copy.
Texas residents
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents can ask to confirm whether we process their personal data, to access it, correct it, delete it, and get a portable copy, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal data. We will respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and if you are unhappy with the result of the appeal, you can contact the Texas Attorney General.
Residents of other US states
Several other US states give their residents similar rights. Wherever you live, you can send us a request and we will handle it in line with the law that applies to you. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
To make a request, use ourhelp page at support.salty.pokeror email us at [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
To delete a Salty Poker player account, including information from Facebook, Apple or Google sign-in, follow ourdata deletion instructions.
Children
This site is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has sent us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, access to stored form submissions is limited to the people who need it, and secret keys are kept out of the site's code. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission.
Where your information is handled
We are based in the United States. Our service providers may handle information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when what the site collects or how we use it changes, and we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the site.
