How to Play Five Card Stud

Five Card Stud is the oldest stud variant. Players receive one hole card and up to four face-up cards across four betting rounds, with no community cards. The high hand at showdown wins.

Deal Structure

Second Street

Each player receives 1 card face down (hole) and 1 card face up. Lowest up-card posts the bring-in.

Third Street

Second up-card dealt. Best hand showing acts first.

Fourth Street

Third up-card. Bets increase to big bet.

Fifth Street

Final up-card. Last betting round. Best five-card hand wins.

On SPN

Five Card Stud uses fixed-limit betting on SPN. With most cards visible, bluffing opportunities are limited -- the game rewards hand reading and patience.
